State financiers posted an increase in profit in the first half of the current fiscal year.
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia grossed a 7.4 billion Birr profit during the reporting period, achieving 77 percent of its target.
The policy bank, Development Bank of Ethiopia, registered 530.5 million Birr gross profit in the same period, being able to meet 388 percent of its target.
Another state-owned financial institution, Ethiopian Insurance Corporation, the biggest insurance firm in Ethiopia, also grossed 565.5 million Birr profit in the first six months of 2021. This has enabled the firm to meet 93 percent of its target.
