Prices of food and non-food items exhibit a drastic increase after the adjustment of the price of fuel by the government.
Teff, Ethiopians staple food, shows an increase by as much as 500 Birr per quintal in Addis Ababa, now reaching almost 4700 Birr. An increase by almost 30 percent almost witnessed in the price of edible oil.
Except for vegetables, almost all food items rose by over 10 percent.
The transportation fee levied by the Addis Ababa City Administration has also spiked by around 20 percent.
