Authority Plans to Construct $1.3 billion Worth Express Roads

March 25, 2021

Ethiopian Roads Authority announced its plan to construct five express roads, through public-private partnership, with an estimated cost of 1.3 billion dollar.

A part of the ten year plan of the Authority, the express roads will connect Addis Ababa with Gohatsion, Wolkite, Debre Birhan, Ambo and Miesso.

Currently, the Authority is looking for potential investors who are interested to partner with the government to construct the express roads, which is expected to support the economic growth of the towns that will be connected with the capital, save time and cost.

The project plan of the express roads was announced during the transport investment summit held at Skylight Hotel on March 24, 2020 in the presence of ministers, CEOs of state enterprises and executives of private companies.
